What’s New: Monthly Museum Mix
Introducing “The Art of Stories: A Literary Adventure in the Metropolitan Museum of Art,” our newest interactive museum tour.
All our tours are inspired by stories of some kind, but this is the first one inspired by stories themselves. On this tour, we’ll look at the story of the Met, stories that are set in and around the Met, and of course, stories of some of the works of art. We’ll also look at different kinds of stories and seek out connections, from myths to fantasies, fairy tales to epic quests. Along the way, we’ll brave dark forests and face obstacles, enter a mysterious cave, and find the light at the end of the tunnel, all in search of the answer to the questions: Why do we have stories, and how do they inform and enrich our lives? The first Saturday of every month at 2:00 PM, and by request.
“Staged: The Interactive Museum Tour for People who Love Theater”

Every other Sunday at 11:00 AM, starting April 28, 2024.

Participants will travel across cultures and across time to see Egyptian, American, and European works of art, to name a few. All the while, we’ll look at how different cultures depict the fearsome and the gruesome, in pursuit of what scares us…and why. Every other Saturday at 11:00 AM, starting April 27, 2024.
